Our Charity The Motivation and Learning Trust has now registered with the Big Give Christmas Challenge to raise funds for 84 Learners and Staff to go on a 4 Day Educational Tour to visit the Battlefields of Normandy in May of 2021. We are hoping to raise a total of £25,000 by gaining £6,250 in pledges, £6,250 in match-funding and the final £12,500 from the online campaign in December. There are 2 phases for donors – pledges, followed by the Online Campaign.

The link for those wishing to make pledges is now open but closes on 28 August 2020. You can help us by pledging a sum of not less than £100 before the pledge deadline. Pledges must be made online following the link here: MLT Pledge for Christmas Challenge    Repayment of pledges is to be made after the Online Christmas Challenge Campaign has ended on 08 December 2020. At that time pledges can be paid directly to our charity in any way convenient to the pledger. Details for repayment will be sent to you nearer the due date. To achieve our aim of gaining the maximum allowable match-funding we must achieve our pledge target of £6,250.

Once the pledge deadline has passed you will still be able to make a donation during the campaign period 01-08 December. However, please note that if you have already made a pledge, the rules state that you, as an individual, are not permitted to make a donation during the online campaign.

The main Christmas Challenge online Campaign will take place over the period of 01-08 December 2020. Our charity will mount a co-ordinated marketing campaign prior to that event building up to “Giving Tuesday”. A short video outlining the whole process is here: The Big Give Christmas Challenge. The minimum donation during the Online Campaign is £5.

Online donations up to a maximum total of £12,500 will be eligible for match funding and if we meet our targets we will  be best placed to gain the maximum match funding of £6,250. However, I am required by the organisers to ensure that pledgers are informed that match funding is not guaranteed. However, all that our charity raises in pledges and the online campaign will go to our charity.

Thank you for taking the time to read this message and supporting our charity by pledging funds or donating during the main campaign.

Please feel free to forward this email to others who may also pledge or support our campaign.

Thank you.

We would like to share a details of a forthcoming charity event that Military Preparation School Instructor,  Adam Priddle and his friend Brian Millard are launching.

On behalf of Motivation & Learning Trust and The Friends of Portfield the 2 have teamed up to create an exciting new fundraiser. The event, organised by both Adam and Brian , both of Letterston, Pembrokeshire, will commence on the 1st August 2020. ‘We are looking at raising funds for two organisations, the first being The Friends of Portfield and the second being The Motivation & Learning Trust. The event will be activity based and involve 25 press ups per day for 365 days.

A little about Adam and Brian:

My name is Adam Priddle and I work for Motivational Preparation College for training (MPCT). Within the company there are many provisions- I work for Military Preparation Schools, based at Pembrokeshire College, which is vocational qualifications aimed at pre-sixteen year old’s with a Military structure. One of the other outlets of the company is the Motivation & Learning Trust (MLT). The reason for this charity event, for me, is to bring the local community together and also raise funds to support young people from any walk of life and any ability.

My Name is Brian Millard and I work for Portfield School as an LSA. I created a charity event last year which went very well (Walk to work week). I also, like Adam, took part in the 25 day push up challenge to raise awareness for mental health and this gave us the idea to increase that to bigger scale. We wanted to create a challenge that would reach out to everyone. I am hoping to raise funds for outdoor educational play equipment for pupils with learning needs.

If you’re keen to get involved in any way, whether that is physically or by way of a donation or sponsorship, please find the link to our event on this page ‘Push ups for Portfield in Partnership with Motivation & Learning Trust.

Thank you.
